Tomorrow is when my first quarter in life comes to an end and begins the second quarter at the age of 26. 25 years of teachable moments that brought joy, sorrow, laughter, pain, confusion, frustration, anxiety, depression, happiness, fear, grace, love…the list goes on. I’m grateful for the experiences, good and bad, because they made me the woman that I am today. As I began the next chapter of life as an offical pastor, I was able to reflect on many things and noticed how God covered me through it all.
I’m blessed to know that God has blessed me with almost 26 years of life. There were times in my life when I felt like I had to put a period to my life, BUT GOD (yes!) changed it to a semi-colon. My story never ended at those moments, it continues. There are characters that I wish I had at the age of 25 like a Prince Charming or a “mini-me”, but I’m content with the story that God has written in my life as a single woman in ministry.
As much as I have tried to write my own story, it was frustrating to do it alone. Especially, if things don’t go the way I wanted them to go resulted in a “Writer’s block.” For those who are not familiar with this term, it is a condition of an inability of producing or continuing a written work as a result of various circumstances. Believe it or not, I am okay with that. God has caused me to embrace the writer’s blocks in my life because that allows Him to take control.
For this reason, I am convinced that God is the greatest author ever known. He was the reason why we have the Holy Bible. God inspired the writers of the Bible through thought inspiration to make it the oldest, best-selling book that is written in many languages and has changed many lives. If God can be the brains behind the greatest book of all time, surely He can make my life into an amazing story about His unfailing love, endless mercies, transforming and miracle-working power that will attract others and cause them to know more about who the Author is. In my story, He wrote about love, growth, forgiveness, sacrifice, redemption, freedom, empowerment, restoration, victory, healing, amazing grace, second chances, peace, faith, hope, purpose, patience, etc. But the greatest part of my story, it is to be continued. God is not done with this living storybook. And guess what? He is not done with your story either. Reading this post while checking your pulse shows that God is still writing His amazing story in your life, just make sure He does all the editing. 😉
